Dear Mr. Plant,
On behalf of everyone at the Old Country Store Restaurant and Casey Jones Village in Jackson Tennessee, thanks for joining us for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. We hope you enjoyed our traditional southern cookin’ and that you will return again next time you’re in the area. I saw you were in the Memphis area on your website for the Blues Tribute. We love the Blues too. In fact, we met you in a little restaurant we had in downtown Jackson about 10 years ago. You were looking for information on the Sonny boy Williamson that hailed from here.
For your information, we are developing plans for a major music museum on the musical heritage of the West Tennessee Delta Region here in Casey Jones Village, sometime in the future, and I would love to show you the plans for your thoughts. The working title is “MUSIC HIGHWAY MUSEUM” — A TRIBUTE TO THE MUSICAL HERITAGE of the WEST TENNESSEE DELTA REGION.
We would be telling the story of the many music cultures of the region including the Shannon Street Blues of Jackson’s Sonny Boy Williamson, the Rock-a-Billy, blue swede shoes sound of Carl Perkins who also called Jackson home,as well as country music, black and white gospel, bluegrass, rhythm n blues, early rock n roll, etc. I have shared this with W.S. Holland who also lives here and served as Johnny Cash drummer for nearly 40 years and was with Carl Perkins when he recorded Blue Swede Shoes for Sun Records. He loves the concept.
Lastly, if we know you are coming we can also make arrangements for you to have a private place to dine if you like. Thanks for stopping and Merry Christmas.
